Jim Judges is a Midlands-based comedian, PhD researcher and creator of the character comedy act Ian Crawford, Cutlery Safety Expert . Ian has been described by the British Comedy Guide as “Brilliant… and what a delight this well-realised, obsessive character is!”
In 2026, Jim will be appearing at festivals, fringes, and comedy events with his new multimedia show, Absolute Bus Stops of Northern Europe and Beyond , celebrating the overlooked magic, mystery and beauty of bus stops.
Alongside performing, Jim researches stand-up character comedy as a part-time PhD student and is a qualified tutor, holding a PGCE in Further, Adult & Higher Education.
He also produces The Character of Comedy podcast, exploring the craft of character and stand-up comedy through conversations with comedians, writers, and performers.
