With thousands of shows competing for attention at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year, some performers have decided that ordinary is not for them. From possible ferret juggling to worshipping an Olympic figure skater, here are seven of the most unusual, eccentric and gloriously niche-sounding shows appearing at the 2026 Fringe.
1. My Date with Pierce Brosnan
An anarchic and unpredictable clown romance controlled by the audience. Mademoiselle Cafetière falls for Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan, but there's a catch: he's a talking dummy whose dialogue is written live by the audience via their phones.

Cult comedy horror meets the Fab Four as Beetlejuice is retold through the songs of The Beatles. A multimedia mashup packed with audience participation, daft invention, and some Ghost with the Most mischief.

A wonderfully strange-sounding debut from this former BBC New Comedy Award winner. The title may be the strangest thing about the show, though whether any actual ferret juggling occurs remains to be seen.
