This is a short and friendly comedy performance workshop where you'll have a chance to try out a piece of stand-up, character comedy, alternative comedy, spoken word, comic poetry, or anything with a comedic slant, all in a small supportive group.
Each person gets up to 3 minutes to perform a piece. After that, you'll have a quick one-to-one chat with the tutor to reflect on how it went, followed by some constructive group feedback aimed at helping you sharpen your material and delivery.
The whole session runs for two hours (with a short comfort break halfway through), and time is shared equally between participants. The group size is capped so that everyone gets a proper turn, with around 10 to 12 minutes in total per person for performance, reflection, and feedback.
It’s not just about your own stage time. You’ll learn a lot from watching others, hearing how their material lands, and offering your own feedback too. Helping others improve helps you improve too.
It’s a practical space to test ideas, build confidence, and give and receive feedback in a friendly, useful and constructive way. Whether you’ve gigged before or are just starting to build your material, this is a chance to perform, reflect and develop in good company.
